The IG fraction includes promyelocytes, myelocytes, and metamyelocytes. Bands and blasts are not included. The Sysmex XE-2100 Automated Hematology System (Sysmex America, Inc, Lincolnshire, IL, USA), for example, uses light scattering and fluorescence to identify granulocytes with a larger nuclear volume, consistent with immature cells.
