The following describes this patient’s physical exam when you see her in the emergency room:
General: In some distress
Vital signs: Heart rate 115/min, blood pressure 88/64, respiratory rate 37/min, T 102.5oF
Head and neck: No lymphadenopathy
CVS: S1, S2, no extra sounds, no murmur
Chest: Normal to inspection, palpation, percussion; reduced breath sounds left and right bases
Abdomen: Left CVA tenderness, no hepatosplenomegaly
CNS: No focal changes
Skin: Cool extremities, poor capillary refill
