Physical Exam

The following describes this patient’s physical exam when you see her:

General appearance: Anxious, tachypneic, mask in place 

Vital signs: Heart rate 113/min, blood pressure 123/66 mmHg, respiratory rate 24/min on 100% nasal cannula

Head and neck: Some erythema of posterior pharynx, but no petechiae. No lymphadenopathy

Chest: No accessory muscle use, decreased breath sounds but could not take deep breaths

CVS: Heart sounds normal, no S3 or S4, no murmur

Abdomen: Non-tender, non-tender, non-distended, no rebound or guarding, palpable spleen approximately 4 finger breadths under costal margin

CNS: Cranial nerves II-XII tested and intact, strength 5/5 throughout, sensation grossly normal, gait not assessed 

Extremities: Warm and well-perfused, no cyanosis, clubbing or edema 

Integument: Warm and well perfused, no excoriations or lesions, no rashes

Lymph nodes: No cervical, supraclavicular, axillary, or inguinal lymphadenopathy
