Dr. Alqahtani is Chairman and CEO of the Royal Clinics in Saudi Arabia, Professor of Medicine at Alfaisal University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Associate Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. He is the recipient of several awards and honors and serves as a member on editorial and advisory boards. He has been the principal investigator of clinical trials related to the management of viral hepatitis and fatty liver disease, including novel agents, and the co-investigator for clinical trials in liver cancer, liver cirrhosis and outcome of liver transplantation. He is an invited speaker at scientific conferences in the United States, Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Europe. Dr. Alqahtani is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, Transplant Hepatology and Obesity Medicine, and is a member of professional societies including the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, the European Association for the Study of the Liver, the Global NASH Council, the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, and the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association.
