What is May-Thurner syndrome?

Narrowing of left common iliac vein caused by compression/chronic pulsations of overlying right common iliac artery, leading to stasis of venous return within the lower extremity veins and deep vein thrombosis (DVT), most commonly of the left lower extremity.
