What is “low von Willebrand factor” (vWF)?

Patients with vWF plasma levels between 0.30 and 0.50 IU/mL are classified as either:

• Type 1 von Willebrand disease (vWD), if they have a significant bleeding phenotype.
• Low vWF if they do not have a bleeding phenotype.
