Did you know that smoking results in a dose-dependent increase in the MCV? This was reported in Blood (2013) 122 (21): 4660 and then in Am J Hematol. 2019; 94: E45–E48 (see graphic). Consider adding it to your differential diagnosis for macrocytosis!
