Introduction

I will refer to the 10 parameters of the CBC throughout the three sessions. These are the parameters provided by the lab to clinicians at my institution. They may differ from those provided at your institution. For example, our 10-parameter panel includes two different types of red cell distribution width, whereas yours may provide only one. We are not privy to the mean platelet volume, whereas other centers provide this value.

When we begin the session, you will be asked to consider 5 questions. We will return to these during the 3 sessions.
