Nate Shapiro, MD is Professor of Emergency Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Vice Chair of EM Research at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Boston MA. Nate is an internationally recognized clinician-scientist in the field of sepsis (severe infection). His research area of interest is in the early diagnosis and treatment of patients with sepsis. He has a translational focus on the study of the endothelium and microcirculation. In overseeing the translational research program at Beth Israel Lahey Health, which involves extensive ties with biotech, Nate brings invaluable leadership skills to the TBP board.
