
Brian Carney is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and an attending physician in the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Carney serves as Medical Director of Apheresis Services at BIDMC. He is a clinical investigator with interests in cancer-associated thrombosis, thrombotic microangiopathy, stem cell collection, and therapeutic apheresis.
Dr. Carney has been part of The Blood Project since its inception, first as a contributor, then as an Advisory Board member, and later as co-editor of the inaugural topic module on Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, where he played a key role in shaping the new look and direction of TBP content.
