Population
Inclusion Criteria:
- 18 years or older
- Newly diagnosed, treatment-naïve ITP with baseline platelet count < 30,000 or with bleeding symptoms
- Bone marrow examination required in patients ≥ 60 years or those with abnormalities in peripheral blood cells other than thrombocytopenia
Exclusion Criteria:
- Any previous ITP-specific therapy
- Corticosteroids or immunosuppressive therapy for non-ITP diseases in the 3 months prior to enrollment
- Life-threatening bleeding
- Malignancy
- Connective tissue disease
- HIV
- HBV
- HCV
- Pregnancy or lactation
- Active infection
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Cardiovascular disease
- Kidney or liver function impairment
- Psychosis
- Osteoporosis
