Overview

TBP Journal Club summarizes the best new evidence in hematology. A team of physicians, led by Dr. Brian Carney, rigorously assesses the scientific merit of the medical literature as it is published and assesses the clinical relevance and newsworthiness of rigorous studies. The goals of the TBP Journal Club are to:

  1. To highlight new findings.
  2. To teach physicians-in-training how to search for articles that represent the best evidence to inform clinical practice.
  3. To encourage practitioners to read and appraise publications critically and provide them with the tools to do so.
  4. To complement critical thinking skills, which are promoted across all TBP learning platforms.

Brian Carney, MD is an attending physician in the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and an Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
