The following lab tests were ordered and were found to be normal:

  • Antithrombin
  • Protein C
  • Protein S
  • FV Leiden
  • Prothrombin mutation
  • Antiphospholipid antibodies
  • Jak2 V617F

Based on a favorable study comparing warfarin with DOAC in non-cirrhotic PVT, the patient was ultimately switched to Eliquis and was anticoagulated for a total of 6 months. Her portal vein recanalized and she did not have recurrence.
