The patient was seen initially in the hematology outpatient clinic. The work-up was consistent with a diagnosis of hereditary spherocytosis. She returns to clinic once per year for follow up. She continues to be asymptomatic, she has not developed any complications of hemolysis, and her ferritin is stable. There has been no need for red cell transfusions, and there are no indications for splenectomy.
